"Sing and Dance!" - Input/Output Logics without Weakening

چکیده
Makinson and van der Torre [14] introduce a number of input/output (I/O) logics to reason about conditional norms. The key idea is to make obligations relative to a given set of conditional norms. The meaning of the normative concepts is, then, given in terms of a set of procedures yielding outputs for inputs. Using the same methodology, Stolpe [20,21] has developed some more I/O logics to include systems without the rule of weakening of the output (or principle of inheritance). We extend Stolpe’s account in two directions. First, we show how to make it support reasoning by cases−a common form of reasoning. Second, we show how to inject a new (as we call it, “aggregative”) form of cumulative transitivity, which we think is more suitable for normative reasoning. The main outcomes of the paper are soundness and completeness theorems for the proposed systems with respect to their intended semantics.

The Effect of Changing Interregional Relationships on Employment Changes: A Decomposition Analysis in Two-Regional Input- Output Model
According to the regional economic literature, interregional communication can play an important role in production, followed by production-related variables such as employment. For this reason, changing (strengthening or weakening) inter-regional communication can lead to changes in production and employment in the regions. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to investigate the change of...
متن کاملDance Choreography Is Coordinated with Song Repertoire in a Complex Avian Display
All human cultures have music and dance, and the two activities are so closely integrated that many languages use just one word to describe both. Recent research points to a deep cognitive connection between music and dance-like movements in humans, fueling speculation that music and dance have coevolved and prompting the need for studies of audiovisual displays in other animals. However, littl...
متن کاملFrederik Van De Putte Adaptive Logic Characterizations of Input / Output Logic
We translate unconstrained and constrained input/output logics as introduced by Makinson and van der Torre to modal logics, using adaptive logics for the constrained case. The resulting reformulation has some additional benefits. First, we obtain a prooftheoretic (dynamic) characterization of input/output logics. Second, we demonstrate that our framework naturally gives rise to useful variants ...
متن کاملComputational Complexity of Input/Output Logic
Input/output logics are abstract structures designed to represent conditional norms. The complexity of input/output logic has been sparsely developed. In this paper we study the complexity of input/output logics. We show that the lower bound of the complexity of the fulfillment problem of 4 input/output logics is coNP, while the upper bound is either coNP or P .
متن کاملA new optimization of segmented Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor based on increasing flux weakening range and output torque
In this paper a new optimization function for increasing the flux weakening range and output torque value of segmented interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (SIPMSM) is presented. In proposed objective function normalized characteristic current and saliency ratio are considered as two optimization variables during optimization process. The focus of this paper is rotor structure design suc...
